Hey, curious mind. Could you be a Rookie Mind?

Is helping organizations put people first what drives you? And would you love to be part of The Rookie Minds? Let’s meet! You’re more than welcome at our hub.

Are you our new colleague?

We’re looking for people-first go-getters. Consultants who get energy from helping organizations turn their dreams into reality. People who understand that strategy can never be separated from people, team dynamics and real conversations. People who don’t shy away from complexity, but get curious about it.

With us, you work with both head and heart. Like us, you believe that people are the key to success. And that simply by being yourself, you can inspire others, hold up a mirror and challenge them. You dare to step off the beaten path, ask the questions others swallow, and you’re just headstrong enough to give advice, even when no one asked for it.

We’re looking for people who love freedom and responsibility. People who can take care of themselves, take ownership, and still want to be part of a collective.  Independent in how they work, always connected in how they show up.

Sounds like you? Then these might just be your new colleagues!

Don’t expect a standard application process with us. We like to do things a little differently.

Then there’s our ‘application process’, although we prefer not to call it that. It takes as long as it takes. Because we want to really get to know each other. We’re curious about you, and we’d love to explore together whether we’re a match.

We’re not interested in your CV, you probably guessed that. We are interested in your real story. In what makes your heart beat a little faster. And we especially love people who aren’t looking for a ‘regular’ job, because you won’t find one here!

Road to Rookie

No standard process flow here. Actually: something much more fun and much more personal!
1

Getting to know each other

We’d love to get to know you personally. And we’ll tell you everything you want to know about The Rookie Minds. Feel a spark? Then we’ll explore further.

2

Cliftonstrengths assessment

We’re head over heels for StrengthsFinder and we’d love to take you into the world of talent. Not to assess you, but to discover together where your unique strengths lie. What you’re naturally good at, what gives you energy, and how that fits with our work and the way we organize ourselves.

3

Further exploration

In as many conversations as we need, we explore whether there’s a match. Do you feel at home in our holacratic organization? Is there a match in vision, way of working and approach?

4

Drinks

Yes, you read that right. Joining one of our Friday afternoon drinks is a mandatory part of our recruitment process. It’s how we get to know each other better in a more informal setting too.

5

Plan of action

Do we both give each other a wholehearted “yes” on all fronts? Then we go for it. Together, we’ll decide on a start date, your first assignment, salary and all the other practical details.

Working at The Rookie Minds is not your average job

Working at The Rookie Minds doesn’t require a perfect CV. It does ask for something else: ownership, curiosity and being comfortable with uncertainty.

We’re organized holocratically. This means we share responsibility for how our internal organization works. Everything The Rookie Minds needs to run well, from finance to marketing, and from content development to onboarding, we organize together. A core group of colleagues guards our purpose and way of thinking, making sure we stay true to what The Rookie Minds stands for in the long run.

For you, this means one thing: you don’t just work for an organization, you’re part of it. You have influence, a voice and responsibility. You think along, roll up your sleeves and contribute to the collective. You take on internal roles and, in doing so, share responsibility for our organization.

Everything you want to know about The Rookie Minds

Okay, “everything” might be a bit much. For that, we really do need to meet.

But we can lift a small corner of the veil. Just enough for you to decide whether you’d like to get in touch or whether you’re thinking: “lovely, but not for me.”

A Rookie Mindset means staying curious. It means daring to admit that you don’t always know, asking questions before offering solutions, and being open to perspectives that aren’t your own. We believe that true innovation arises when you keep looking like a Rookie.

No. No bosses, no status differences, no titles. We work as equal colleagues, with different roles and responsibilities that evolve with what is needed. Influence doesn’t come from position, but from involvement and trust.

We like to keep things lean and mean. No office of our own, no staff, no complicated systems. You arrange your own laptop, phone and how you get around. That asks for independence, but it also gives you a lot of freedom. We’d rather invest in fun team events, exciting projects and development than in overhead.

The short answer? Everywhere. You’ll often find us at our hub at the Social Impact Factory Vredenburg, where we rent flexible workspaces and gather every Friday. During the week, you’ll find us working at our clients’ offices or from home. And every now and then, we take ourselves somewhere else entirely. We call it “Rookies on the Road”. Sometimes we work from one of our homes, sometimes at the beach, and sometimes from a little cabin in the middle of nowhere.

Both! You work independently with clients: you maintain your network, bring in assignments, guide client projects and organize your own work. Sometimes you’re the only Rookie on an assignment. Sometimes we team up or work together as a group. We spar a lot, share our doubts and successes, and help each other move forward. With us, independent never means going solo.

We’re collectively responsible for The Rookie Minds. For our work, our clients, our marketing, our finances and our culture. Everyone takes on internal roles and contributes to our internal organization in their own way. And when you see something that could be better? Then it’s also your responsibility to bring it up, or take it on.

Sounds like you? Then we might just be a match made in heaven.

Let’s meet!
